Air transport over water
Operatie NL generates solutions that nobody asks for but everyone is waiting for. From this proposition we have identified a social problem in a domain where we have special knowledge and experience. This concerns the container logistics and specifically the problems surrounding empty containers.
Operatie NL approaches this problem in its own unique way and literally and figuratively gives the concept of out-of-the-box thinking a new dimension. By analyzing the container logistics with an open mind, we have come to surprising insights and a clear mission.
Operatie NL wants to realize savings for several stakeholders in the area of costs, emissions, space and traffic congestion. We simply do this by reducing the number of transport movements and the average residence time of empty containers.
This is important because:
- These are savings that are of significant value to the port industry and society. Every year tens of billions are spent worldwide on the transport of empty containers, with the result that transport costs are higher and unnecessary traffic jams are on the road;
-
Little attention is paid to the negative effects of the current empty container logistics, especially from a social perspective, while only 16 (of the thousands) of large seagoing vessels emit as much sulfur as all cars in the world add up;
-
Global developments mean that the number of transport movements and the average stay time of empty containers will only increase further in the coming years;
-
Stakeholders do not look further than their own playing field and solutions that have already been implemented therefore did not lead to chain optimization
-
Planned solutions measures will not lead to the mentioned savings, the opposite will contribute and will not provide a structural response to the expected increase.
By connecting this problem and relevant developments with each other, we are able to work out a proposition with profitable perspectives for multiple stakeholders. However, do not think that we will bring a new type of container to the already overwhelmed market. Or that we try to bring world trade more in balance and further optimize cargo flows. And we really do not come up with a solution that requires high investments from market parties in a tense market.
Instead, Operatie NL brings existing market parties together in a new circular ecosystem, which removes the current problems and at the same time creates room for further optimization of existing services. – and accelerated growth of new business.
Therefore, Operatie NL will not occupy a competitive position, but as initiator and director will participate in the realization of this circular ecosystem. In addition to the required competencies to develop and realize projects, Operatie NL has a proven track record in container logistics and we have an extensive network in this sector.
In this phase we are talking to stakeholders in order to secure support for the proposition. and explore the possibilities for consortium formation. Operatie NL is also taking further steps to further develop the business case in a project.
Operatie NL always tries to bring parties together and is therefore looking for partners who accompany us on this mission. If you have interest, questions or ideas, we invite you to contact Vincent van den Adel via v.van.den.adel@operatienl.com
